We got a pretty good snowstorm over the weekend December 19th – 20th -  and personally, I think it’s about time! I like snow. Not a ton, but I really do not mind it until the holidays are over. After Jan 1st though – I’m ready for summer. : )

It seemed like it would never get here. And I actually stayed up till about 1 am on Saturday night – just to see the first flakes falling. Some were saying it was a “blizzard.” I’m not thinking so though. I really didn’t hear any high winds and we didn’t get any huge drifts or anything. No power outages or anything like that.

Was not as fun for me as it was years ago because my kids are all grown up and the excitement of getting them all excited and wondering was just not there. Hell, my daughter wasn’t even here for it. She was working, then going to a friends house after work. So – I was left to anticipate it all by myself.

It looks kinda pretty I think. My kitties were tweaking everytime the snowplow went by though. Was actually funny to watch them get all bananas everytime one went buy!

I’m not sure they knew what the hell was going on. And, I really do not know if cats hear as well as dogs do but if they do I can understand the  reasons for tweaking.

This next picture shows the huge pile of snow the bobcat left to the right of my door! Instead of shoveling, the maintenance dudes have a guy work the bobcat to clear our walkways. And this is the result…

I love the greyness of the sky. I don’t know why really. It’s just kinda funky. Kinda like the monster has left and this is what he left behind… and the grey skies represent his leaving…

It’s calm outside – except for the sound of the plows and snow blowers… Insulated.

Snow really IS a blanket in the most typical sense. Don’t cha think?

Just like when Michael Jackson got away with violating those boys.

Society is crazy. “stars” are crazy as well thinking that they can get away with anything because of who they are. And sadly, how much they make.

Tiger Woods, you should be ashamed of yourself. Real men take care of their relationships. Losers run away from them.

Are you happy now that you have hurt your wife and also your kids? Are you happy that all the pictures of the women you screwed are nothing but nasty douchebags?

And…Jaimee Grubbs – actually saying she is *sorry* for sleeping with him? That is bullshit. She knew it was wrong when she screwed him the first time. She knew then he was married! That’s no excuse. If she was really truly sorry she would have stopped – not kept up with it. She is only sorry because she was caught. She is nothing but a needy, pathetic tramp.

And that Rachel Uchitel…. Every picture she has she is looking like a total douchebag with an attitude. One of those immature women that walk around with that *tough guy* look. Totally pathetic too. She really might want to consider a lip reduction. The look just does not suit you.

Elin Nordegren – You can do so much better then Tiger. Get rid of him. He is damaged goods. Once a cheater….you know how the saying goes….

This is the time that I can somewhat get caught up with all my bills from the prior year. And – if I have enough I can get myself the new phone I have been keeping an eye on. I really would love an IPhone, but I already have an I Touch so it’s silly to have both I guess.

I do have my eye on a new cell phone – The Nokia E71x . It’s a nice phone and I am going to get it because of the camera features. I currently have a Blackjack 2 and I love Samsung phones … but there is one thing I do not like about them – when they make smartphones they never have a decent phone that has a flash. I do not know why.

So, I am going to buy out of my comfort zone and get me a different brand. I have bought Nokia’s in the past – like 7 years ago and I liked them so I should be ok..lol

This one has a 3.2 megapixel with flash, which is what I wanted. Samsung, for some crazy reason, never has a flash.

So, enough about phones! I can get all caught up in geeky tech stuff. I love talking phones!

Today is Thanksgiving. A day for giving thanks and also reflecting on the year. And, it’s been quite a year at that! My daughter and I have had a busy year for sure.

• My daughter graduated H.S and started college!
• We moved to a new apartment – bigger and better!
• My daughter bought her first car!
• I finally got a new boss and am not the one *in charge* of it all!
• We acquired a new kitten.
• We had our first *family* trip – My bf, his 2 kids and my daughter.

All in all it has been a really good year I think. Despite the small little wrenches that are thrown in from time to time it’s been good. I hope next Thanksgiving I can be reflecting on it having been good as well.

Now – what am I thankful for? That can be many things!  Here are a few.

• I’m thankful for my awesome daughter. She has grown into a wonderful young lady.
• I’m thankful for my two boys. They are fine young men.
• I’m thankful for my bf of 6 years. He puts up with a lot of crap from me.
• I’m thankful that I have newly learned patience to deal with his crap as well!
• I’m thankful for friends that help me out when I need them.
• I’m thankful for my new awesome apartment – and being able to afford it!
• I’m thankful I still have my job of 15 years!
• I’m thankful that I only have a few minor aliments.
• I’m thankful that although I am not rich, I make enough to get by.
• I’m thankful that I could afford Thanksgiving dinner! Turkey and all the fixings!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today is a day for family. And if you don’t have family, take comfort in knowing that there are people in this world that love you and think you rock!

Remember last week when I was talking about changing my diet up and omitting gluten from my diet?

Well, I’m here to report that so far all has been well with the gluten free diet.
It really has been fairly easy to stay gluten free and I do not feel that I am depriving myself at all. For some reason though I have been really craving potatoes. But I think that was before I started my diet. And I have no idea why I would be craving potatoes!

Although I was feeling a small amount of sadness when the girls at work had pizza on Friday, I was ok when I reminded myself that if I really wanted -  I could have the pizza but I was choosing not to have it because I was omitting the gluten from my diet. I was ok after that and I really did enjoy my chicken with brown rice and topped with a smidge of salsa!

And I also found the UNO restaurant has gluten free pizza! I love UNO’s. Have not gone there in a few months though. But since I know they have gluten free stuff, I will be going there more often! I also started taking a Prebiotic as well. So this might be helping out too.

Looking around the web, I gotta tell you I found some really great links for recipes and products as well. Here two of my favorites…

These sites have everything that you need to start you on your way to a gluten free lifestyle. I highly recommend them to get you started. You will not be disappointed.

Have I actually felt better since omitting gluten from my diet? This is pretty much a yes. Although I do not know if it’s all in my head or if there is an actual correlation to me omitting it from my diet.

What I have noticed is that this week I have only had one episode of pain in my tummy. And I am also not running to the bathroom 3 times in the morning as well.

Sorry, I know that is rather graphic to be writing about – but it’s something I have always had an issue with. I have only had one headache this week, and my bloating is not so noticeable as well.

Is there a connection? Could be. But then again it could be my brain wanting it to work as well. Either way, it has been a good week stomach wise – so I am happy.

I really do not know how long it takes for my tummy/intestines to heal from having the gluten sensitivity – if indeed I do have one.  I figure I will keep trying to omit it from my diet for a month and then re introduce it and see what happens.

Seriously – when this country votes for an idiot like Obama because some fat assed woman tells her viewers that she is voting for him… then I’d say it’s time the country get it’s head out of it’s ass!    How many times did I hear, “Oprah is voting for Obama – so I am too!” This is really scary people! You voted for someone based on what a TALK SHOW HOST said…

Hello? Does that sound “ok” to you?

I do not know who I dislike more to be honest with ya. But, if I had to choose I guess I would have to go with keeping Obama – He will only fuck up the country for 4 years (providing he isn’t voted in for four more painful years!)… She has done it for 25.

Sure, she did nice things from time to time. Like when she gave teachers cars, or when she started her *book club* for all the women that could not decide on their own what to read. Small things like that sent her viewers into a frenzy, they ate it up like a fat kid in a candy store. And it was great PR. Just like MJ – she knew great PR and how to dazzle the crowd.

And she is pretty much rich beyond belief – so when or if she wants another talk show – she will do it. Hell, she is starting another cable channel with the Discovery networks.  I guess it is going to be called, “OWN.”  (And I suppose that stands for Oprah Winfrey Network??)

I am old enough to remember when she first started. And in the beginning it was good. But as soon as she got some power she turned. The same with some of the girls Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Star Jones on the View. I stopped watching that show too.

I gotta feeling that she will not be gone for long. I can however take comfort in knowing that I probably won’t be able to get her network on my cable lineup!
